After completing his viticultural and wine-making studies at Beaune, Julien Mus returned to his family domaine on the outskirts of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Until then the grapes from the domaine had been sold off to the local co-op. The domaine consists of four hectares of AOC Côtes du Rhône and six hectares of Vin de Pays designated vineyards around Courthezon, to which Julien has added a small plot of AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape, located between those of Font de Michelle and Vieux Télégraphe, near the south-eastern border of the appellation. 


The 'Julien Mus' label wines are an opportunity for him to experiment with vineyards that fall outside the official AOP laws, whether due to site location or grape variety. He produces the Biodynamic wines from vineyards planted around his cellar in Bederiddes, just to the SE of the Crau plateau of Chateauneuf.

Ju de Vie is a blend of southern Rhône varieties produced from younger vines in concrete tanks and we have added Lou Ravi, a new wine, produced from Viognier that grows around the cellar and raised in steel tank. 

Julien Mus Wines

Ju de Vie Blanc 30 % Clairette, 30% Grenache blanc, 30% Roussanne, 10% Bourboulenc. A field blend from young biodynamic vines planted around Julien's cellar in B�darrides. Pressed and settled for 12 hours prior to ferment in stainless steel, and kept on the lees for 6 months. The resulting wine is classic, fresh southern rhone white.
Ju de Rolle 100% Rolle from 6 yo vines sat on the banks of the Ouveze river. Predominantly clay and limestone soil with scattered pebbles. Pre-dawn harvest, cold debourbage, cool fermentation prior to 6 months ageing in steel tanks.
Lou Ravi Blanc 100% Viognier. 12yo vines planted on the sandy, alluvial soils below the Crau plateau on the south eastern side of Chateuaneauf. Pressing is slow, prior to ferment in stainless steel and elevage for 5 months, with one racking.
Ju de Vie Rouge 20 % Merlot, 30% Marselan, 40% Grenache, 10% Mourv�dre. A field blend of biodynamic vineyards found in Bederiddes. The fruit is fermeted and aged for 8 months in concrete cues and produces the ultimate expression of and artisans wine of the region.
Pur Jus 100% Syrah. Selected fruit from the new vineyards planted on the edge of the Crau plateau. The fruit is destemmed and hand sorted prior to ferment in cuve inox where it is racked twice prior to bottling in May. No SO2 is added at any stage.
