Domaine de Chardoisie
Thierry Merlet is a Loire winemaker who has completed vintages all over the world, one of the more recent being with Petaluma in Australia. We worked with him in the creation of this wonderfully fresh and aromatic Touraine Sauvignon Blanc. The estate is south of Tours and has a wide variety of terroirs and appellations to choose from when selecting wines for their blends. We have blended together wine that displays fresh, mineral and delicate herbal characters with a parcel of fruit from a warmer site that has more gooseberry and cut grass aromas. The result is a fragrant, complex and attractive varietal wine that offers great value. The Méthode Traditionelle, a blend of Chenin Blanc and Arbois, is vibrant and fresh with a lively mousse and zesty acidity. It is also very elegantly presented and makes a good alternative to entry-level Champagne.

"This modern Loire proves it can rival similarly priced Sauvignons from the New World. Racy and mineral, it has crowd-pleasing, tangy, tropical flavours, a leesy undercoat and mouthwatering freshness. Failsafe. Alc. 12%"
