Christophe Cordier
Christophe is well known for the quality of the wines he produces from his own estate, Domaine Cordier. These wines we are offering come from his negociant business, which allows him to venture further afield, explore the multitude of terroirs in the Maconnais and Beaujolais, and take his pick of the best fruit available. As with the style of his domaine wines, these Chardonnays are rich and textural, yet have the delineation and vibrancy which distinguish great wines from this region. The Mâcon-Charnay has a nutty, honeycomb nose and balancing acidity combined with ripe, peachy fruit. A small amount of oak finishes the wine, giving it more weight on the mid-palate. The Bourgogne Blanc in comparison, has a touch more oak on the nose, though still only a nuance, plus brisker acidity and a distinct mineral emphasis. For their quality, both these wines offer lots of flavour and superb value.
