Olivier Bellanger is a great friend of Ludo Chanson and through him we discovered this cracking little domaine tucked away in the folds of Monthou sur Cher. He produces wines from handkerchief sized plots using his hands and little else. There is real joy in drinking his wines, with Pif ‘Mon tout rouge’ being a blend of Gamay and Cot manifesting itself as a juicy, bramble vin de soif with a vital edge and weight beyond expectation. The Nuits-Blanches Sauvignon
is barrel raised and exudes apricot and green herbs as well as being tightly wound and sappy. Again there is huge complexity here, beyond expectations and I hope this domaine will become a mainstay of our portfolio.
