Domaine Michel Cheveau is a 14 hectare family estate run by Nicolas Cheveau. His cellars and vineyards are immaculate and are clearly run with meticulous care. Although small, the cave is full of large oak barrels, new and old, barriques and small capacity stainless steel vats that are neatly lined and spotlessly clean. The fruit is hand harvested from low yielding vines grown in various parcels of vineyard that are spread from St. Amour to Davayé, though the core of the domaine is situated around Pouilly. Nicolas’ wines are superbly judged and beautifully balanced, putting them among the very best examples of the appellations they are attributed too. The white wines that we stock have lovely purity and concentration, with delightful mineral, nut and white flower notes. Sadly only tiny quantities are produced, but these are wines that should not be missed.
