Camille Savès – Bouzy, Montagne de Reims

Camille Savès is a family run Champagne house in the village of Bouzy making small quantities of finely crafted Champagne. The fruit is sourced from the family’s own 10 hectares of vineyard, which include Grand Cru parcels in the communes of Bouzy, Ambonnay and Tours-sur-Marne. In addition, the vineyards are run according to the principles of lutte raisonée and the vines have an average age of over thirty five years old. The NV cuvee ‘Carte Blanche’ is fresh and crisp, with nuances of fragrant red fruit courtesy of a predominance of Pinot Noir, with the remaining quarter of the blend being comprised of Chardonnay from Premier Cru de Tauxieres to add structure and elegance. This wine epitomizes the house style of Camille Savès and the textured, harmonious palate and persistence on the finish are testament to the length of time spent on lees. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for the Rosé is sourced exclusively from Bouzy Grand Cru vineyards and has a delicate pink colour. There is a delightful, delicate red berry aroma on the nose and the palate has great balance and finesse.
